History & Politics Teacher (full-time)

Starting August / September 2019

The College invites applications from well-qualified and enthusiastic A level teachers.    This is an exciting opportunity to work for this friendly and successful team.  This is a full-time and permanent position.  NQTs are welcome to apply.

Salaries will be on the sixth form college teachers’ salary scale between £24,947 and £38,748 depending on experience, plus London Weighting £2,533 per annum.

Requirements


1. Honours degree in relevant discipline.

2. PGCE or equivalent post-16 teaching qualification.

3. Enthusiasm for History and Politics and the ability to convey that enthusiasm in A level teaching. 

4. Contribute positively to the work of the departments through collaborative planning, and by sharing teaching ideas and resources.

5. Excellent classroom skills that demonstrate effective differentiation, assessment for learning and give rise to high quality learning.

6. Successful use of intervention strategies to improve levels of progress.

7. Skilled in using assessment data and prior learning to inform planning.

8. Good behaviour management skills.

9. Excellent communication and team working skills.

10. The interpersonal skills and enthusiasm required to undertake the duties of a personal tutor to post-16 age group.

11. Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity in practice.

12. Commitment to safeguarding the interests and needs of young people.
